OSHA releases 2024 civic penalty amounts, NIOSH publishes substance use toolkit and more
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
OSHA has released this year’s updated civic penalty amounts according to its annual inflation adjustments. Maximum penalties increased from $15,625 to $16,131 for serious and other-than-serious violations. For willful or repeated violations, the maximum penalty increased from $156,259 to $161,323. These penalty amounts went into effect January 16.

According to NIOSH, 46 million adult Americans experienced a substance use disorder in 2022.
