Jeanette Ward receives Yellow Rose of Texas award

Jeanette Ward with board members celebrating 30 years

Texas Mutual President and CEO Jeanette Ward recently celebrated two significant achievements with our board and members of our executive council. On November 17, Jeanette reached 30 years with Texas Mutual and the governor’s office recognized this achievement with two special commemorations. Jeanette received an official certificate signed by Gov. Greg Abbott to recognize her 30-year milestone and received the Yellow Rose of Texas honor for the difference she’s made in the insurance industry and the communities we serve.

The Yellow Rose of Texas award is the highest honor given to Texas women by the governor and is a testament to how Jeanette’s leadership continues to strengthen our state. Nominations for the award are submitted to and selected by the Office of the Texas Governor. During last month’s board meeting, Honorable Ron Simmons, chairman of Texas Mutual’s board, presented the award to Jeanette.

Jeanette has been an integral part of our journey since joining the Texas Workers’ Compensation Insurance Fund in 1993, which later became Texas Mutual. She attributes her own mentorship experience to what helped lead her to where she is today and carries that forward by serving as a mentor and role model for others at our company and within the insurance industry.

Jeanette’s philanthropic spirit and people-first leadership help us be a force for good all while inspiring others along the way. From being a strong advocate for Early Matters Greater Austin, to championing the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation’s (IICF) philanthropic efforts and stepping up for the American Heart Association (AHA) and the United Way, her community spirit continues to build a brighter future for Texans.

Texas Mutual employees across the state came together to celebrate our fundraising efforts and support the AHA during Heart Walks in Austin, Dallas, Houston and Lubbock. Along with their families, employees stepped together with their neighbors in the spirit of healthy living.

We’re proud to celebrate Jeanette and know that the communities where we live and work are stronger because of her mission-driven leadership.
