This year’s campaign focuses on preparing older adults for disasters and emergencies. The campaign’s website page offers several resources to learn and spread awareness.

EPA requests feedback on revision for 1,4-dioxane determination
The EPA is seeking public comments on its revised determination that the chemical 1,4-dioxane presents unreasonable health risks. 1,4-Dioxane is commonly used in manufacturing and consumer products. Comments must be received by Sept. 8, 2023.

OSHA announces Beat the Heat Contest winners
OSHA announced its Beat the Heat Contest winners, which included several organizations across multiple categories, including most innovative, most creative and highlighting indoor heat hazards. The national competition encouraged businesses to share how they keep their employees safe from heat exposure in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Tools and resources from winning businesses are provided on the campaign’s website page to share best practices for protecting employees.
