Texas Mutual employees raise $194,977 for annual United Way fundraising campaign

We’re able to help build a stronger, safer Texas thanks to longstanding partners like the United Way, who share in advancing our mission. This spring, over 990 employees from across our offices united for our largest annual fundraiser in support of our community partner. Through creative fundraisers, our employees raised a company record of over $194,977 to help change people’s lives for the better and create a brighter future for our communities.

United Way $194,977 raised

Throughout our month-long campaign, employees donated to the United Way and learned more about its mission and focus areas. During a virtual community conversation, our employees learned about United Way for Greater Austin’s new pilot program, Parenting Students Project, which provides financial incentives and wrap-around support for parenting students to help them complete a post-secondary education. The organization’s strategic efforts in strengthening early childhood education, supporting access to affordable and quality health care and creating paths toward financial stability have impacted over 52,893 children and individuals across Central Texas.

Our employees showed their giving spirit by leading fundraisers including our third annual version of the reality TV show, Chopped, a new edition of our TXM Office Olympics and a companywide raffle. We also donated four of our retired fleet vehicles to be auctioned off in support of the United Way.

We’re proud to partner with the United Way and more than 100 nonprofits across the state to help strengthen our communities, businesses and working families. This year, we’ll be awarding $8 million in grants to Texas nonprofits through two Request for Proposal (RFP) initiatives focused on generational learning and workforce development and safety training. Together, we’re continuing to be a force for good by showing up for our neighbors and being there for those who rely on us each day.
